Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton is the director of the show. Ashford was last seen as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the National Crisis that saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the nation's first impeachment proceedings over 100 Years. She starred in two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary performers Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Essie In You Can't Take It with You. Other Broadway roles are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the originating role of Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits her days between Los Angeles and New York.
