Laura Linney was one of the most renowned American actors of recent times. Her powerful and vulnerable roles have earned her a cult name. Born to a well-known playwright father, but raised by a single mother who worked in the field of nursing, she became interested in theatre while spending summers with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting initially at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. Following her graduation from Brown University in the year 2000, she started her Broadway debut shortly thereafter. In the space of two years from this, her first feature film hit the market, and next year her TV debut. She has appeared in innumerable movies, television shows and stage productions since then. She has been nominated for three Oscar Awards, five Tony Awards, four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), and has won numerous awards throughout her time on the stage. In spite of her many nominations, she has a passion for acting and has performed on both screen and stage.
